The Foolish Wolf

A wolf came upon a sheepskin one day. He wrapped himself in the sheepskin and entered a group of sheep grazing in a field. "The shepherd will close the livestock in the pen after sunset," he reasoned. I'm going to steal a fat sheep and eat it at night.

Everything went smoothly until the shepherd locked the sheep in the pen and left. The wolf patiently waited for night to fall and get darker. But then something unexpected happened.

One of the shepherd's servants entered the pen. His owner had assigned him the task of bringing a big sheep for supper. As chance would have it, the wolf clothed in sheepskin was picked up by the servant.

That night, the shepherd and his guests fed on the wolf.
