The Tortoise and the Hare

Once upon a time, in a forest, a hare was roaming near a lake. Suddenly he saw a tortoise and mocked at him saying - "Hurry up, you slow coach! Isn't it tedious to take so long to cover a few yards? By now, I could have run to the other side of the lake."
The tortoise was upset and challenged the hare to a race. The race was to be through the woods to a specific destination. The hare agreed laughingly.
He was gone and out of sight in a matter of minutes. "What a funny race it is!" he said to himself , "I am already half -way through. But it's far too cold; why not take a nap in the warm sunlight?"
The tortoise continued to walk steadily. He quickly passed by the sleeping hare. The hare slept much longer than he had planned. When he finally finally woke up, he looked around and thought to himself, "Not even a sigh of the poor tortoise anywhere so far; I'd better trot along and finish the race."
The hare dashed to the finish line. He was absolutely amazed to see all the animals cheering for the tortoise, who had only arrived a minute before. He was so ashamed!

Moral Lesson
Slow and steady wins the race.
