The Sun and the Wind

Once upon a time, the Wind and the Sun had a disagreement. "I am stronger than you," the Wind said. "No, you are not," the Sun replied. At that same time, they noticed a stranger going across the road.

He was wearing a scarf. The Sun and Wind decided that whomever could separate the traveller from his shawl was the strongest of the two.

The Wind made the first move. He blew hard enough to rip the traveler's shawl off his shoulders. But the more the traveller pressed the shawl to his body, the harder he blew.

The conflict continued until the Wind's turn came to an end.

It was now the Sun's turn. The Sun gave a warm grin. The warmth of the beaming Sun was felt by the traveller.

He eventually let the shawl fall open. The Sun's grin became hotter and hotter... hotter and hotter. The traveler no longer need his scarf. He removed it and dropped it to the ground. The Sun was determined to be more powerful than the Wind.

Moral Lesson

A charming smile may accomplish more than raw strength.
